St Pauls Chambers is a leading set in personal injury law. The personal injury team undertake work across the full breadth of the area, and have been consistently recognised by the legal directories as providing the highest quality of work in this field for many years.
The team act for claimants and defendants on all issues arising from personal injury claims, including:
As a result, we are instructed in low-value Portal cases, up to complex and high value multi-track cases of the utmost severity.
The team’s advocacy skills are well regarded. We attend all courts in England and Wales, whether in person or remotely, and regularly appear at CCMCs, interim hearings and applications, portal and disposal hearings, trials, and appeals.
Furthermore, members combine busy court practices with substantial advisory and drafting work. We are often instructed at the very early stages of a case, and can advise in conference or in paper, as well as draft pleadings. Members of the team are often required to turn papers round at short notice, and are willing to provide quick, informal advice on the day-to-day management of any ongoing litigation if required.
The team understand the commercial realities of each case, and as such, are experienced in, and recognise the importance of, alternative dispute resolution. That can take the form of written or oral advice on offers made or received, joint settlement meetings, mediation or arbitration.
The team regularly act in Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority cases, including in appeals to the First-Tier Tribunal. A number of members are instructed by the Government Legal Department, and subsequently act for the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Justice.
Chambers is centrally located within walking distance of the train station, secure car parks and the Courts.
