16 Years imprisonment for Brandon Paradzai in a case of mistaken identity

In the Leeds Crown Court on 18.12.23 the defendants BELINGA, MBWASSE and OGIE have been sentenced to life in custody with a minimum of 23 years for the murder of a “perfectly innocent” 17 year old Trust Gangata. They mistook him for another who had earlier that day attacked BELINGA. He was stabbed at least 14 times in front of a large number of very young people in, as the judge described, a “short but brutal and savage attack” with knives and an “horrendous” sword. It was their intention to kill him.

BRANDON PARADZAI defended by RICHARD BARRACLOUGH KC leading MATTHEW HARDING was acquitted of murder by the jury and convicted of manslaughter. He was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment of which he will serve two thirds.
