This Week at St Pauls – 07/06/19
Andrew Haslam QC – Mr Haslam has been instructed to assist in restraint proceedings brought against an international clothing company.
Philip Standfast – Philip, instructed by the prosecution, in a case where the defendant was not fit to plead has been successful in finding that the acts had been committed.
Jeremy Barnett – Jeremy has been speaking at two major crypto events in London and Amsterdam. A number of other UK and US barristers and attorneys were on the speakers list with Jeremy doing a ‘keynote talk’ then moderating a panel discussion at both.
St Pauls Chambers – St Pauls Chambers are now Certificated by the Bar Council for Wellbeing at the Bar.
Hannah Lynch – Hannah has successfully represented a West Yorkshire local authority in a Special Educational Needs Tribunal appeal which, unusually, lasted four days. The case involved numerous expert witnesses and complex points of law. The Tribunal dismissed the appeal and made the orders sought by Ms Lynch, on behalf of the local authority.
Charlie Greenwood – Charlie was this week instructed in a trial regarding a contractual dispute between a fee-paying school and the parents of ex-pupils at the school. The dispute involved unpaid fees stemming back a number of years, and in particular as to whether the contract had been “frustrated”. ‘The parents avoided a “telling off” from the Judge, and settled the matter at the door of Court’.
Hannah Lynch – Hannah who undertook a secondment to a local authority to advise the council on its compliance with relevant legal obligations, in advance of an Ofsted/CQC inspection of the local area’s SEND provision, is delighted that the Council has received a very positive inspection report.
