In a significant domestic terrorism case, three men with neo-Nazi beliefs were convicted at Sheffield Crown Court of preparing acts of terror. The trial has drawn public attention due to the nature of the defendants’ plans and the scale of the evidence gathered against them.
Brogan Stewart, Christopher Ringrose, and Marco Pitzettu were found guilty of preparing terrorist acts after forming an online far-right cell. Although the men had never met in person, they communicated through encrypted apps and shared an admiration for Nazi ideology. The group discussed carrying out attacks on Muslim and Jewish communities in the UK.
Among the preparations outlined in court were Stewart’s detailed plans to abduct and torture a religious leader, including the assembly of an “information extraction kit” containing a blowtorch, pliers, bleach, and a syringe. Ringrose had begun manufacturing a 3D-printed firearm and had stockpiled weapon components. Across the group, more than 200 weapons were recovered.
Following the verdict, prosecutors and counterterrorism officials acknowledged the gravity of the offences and the importance of acting early to prevent extremist violence. The case serves as a reminder of the risks posed by online radicalisation and the need for continued vigilance against hate-fuelled threats.
The three men are due to be sentenced on July 17, 2025.
