Charlie Greenwood successfully concluded a (remote) Joint Settlement Meeting on behalf of an elderly gentleman who sustained a serious head injury following a fall on a pothole on a pavement in Cleckheaton. Liability, contributory negligence and quantum remained in dispute. There was a significant disparity between the parties on quantum, particularly as to the level of future care the Claimant was likely to require as a result of the accident, given his age and substantial pre-existing health concerns. At the JSM, the claim settled for a net figure of £175,000.
