We are delighted to announce that Helen Chapman has been appointed as a Recorder in the Criminal jurisdiction on the North Eastern Circuit.
The King has appointed 97 Recorders on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, The Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill. The appointments will take effect on 18 November 2024.
Helen will continue with her barrister practice, specialising in heavy-weight complex crime, terrorism and serious sexual offences. Helen will also continue to sit as a Deputy District Judge on the North Eastern Circuit.
Chambers is centrally located within walking distance of the train station, secure car parks and the Courts.
