What is a Personal Injury?
At St Pauls Chambers, our personal injury and clinical negligence barristers advise claimants and defendants on all issues arising from personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
Members of chambers undertake work at Silk and Junior Counsel level in catastrophic injury claims, fatal accidents, industrial disease, road traffic accident claims, employers liability, public liability and clinical negligence claims.
Barristers can be instructed both on a conditional fee basis, or on a private client basis.
We pride ourselves on being approachable. Our Leeds Barristers are available for informal advice in the day-to-day management of any ongoing litigation on any issues which have arisen. We also operate a quick turnaround policy in respect of paperwork, and appreciate the importance of an efficient service, without compromising on high standards.
See below for our full specialisms in the realm of personal injury, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our clerks if you require any further assistance.

Counsel are fully aware of the additional demands created by disease work and are keen to be involved at the earliest stage in the litigation process to assist in the marshalling of the issues in the case through to trial. Members undertake interlocutory work and trial work and pride themselves as working as part of a team, understanding the importance that expert witnesses can play in such work.
Clinical Negligence
Members of chambers undertake work regarding clinical negligent disputes on a regular basis. Recent cases have included claims against consultants, general practitioners, physiotherapists and dentists. Work is undertaken for both Claimants and Defendants, and barristers are able to cater for all levels of medical negligence cases, from fast track to multi-million pound settlements.
Catastrophic Injury
Members of chambers regularly act in catastrophic injury law. Recent cases have included multi-million pound settlements involving Claimants with spinal injuries, brain injuries and upper and lower limb amputations. Our practitioners pride themselves on being approachable and willing to assist in the day-to-day management of each claim, and enjoy working together with the instructing solicitor throughout the long life that such claims often have.
