What are the UK Drug Laws?
Charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 vary from possession of an illegal drug to large-scale drug trafficking operations.
Prosecution of drugs offences will often rely on a range of supporting evidence including mobile phone data, cash and financial records, and expert evidence. Our specialist team are adept in examining and carefully analysing this evidence.
Many serious drug-related cases are multi-handed, in that there are several accused parties being tried at the same time. Barristers at St Pauls are experienced in handling multi-defendant conspiracy trials which can be extremely complex and can last for many months.

POCA 2002
When convicted of a drugs offence, it is common that a confiscation order will follow. A confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 will be made when a defendant has obtained a benefit from or in connection with his criminal conduct and has the means to pay a confiscation order.
