Cumberland Lodge Moot in memory of Laws LJ

Regina v Billy Goat I

Simon Myerson QC successfully secured the quashing of a conviction for murder against Billy Goat Gruff in the Cumberland Lodge Moot in memory of Laws LJ, who was the Visitor to the Lodge for many years. The Moot was held to raise money for the Lodge and to showcase the talents of the young people who are part of the Big Voice London programme, which aims to help children from non-fee paying schools understand the law and lawyers, and with whom Simon worked whilst he was in London engaged on the Mau Mau case. Simon led Ha Linh Pham to victory against Kirsty Brimelow QC and Ryan Brockwell-Low and has invited Ha Linh to chambers for a week in the summer. The Court of Appeal was Bean and Whipple LJJ and HH Judge Dhir QC.
