Counsel prosecutes Del Boy and Rodders

Jonathan Sandiford has successfully prosecuted conman Trevor Wales and son Richard Wales, for selling fake goods. Dubbed by the Daily Mail as the ‘real-life Del Boy’, the nature of this case received various coverage.

Wales and his son were caught selling fake cigarettes between 2003 and 2009, and as a result they transformed their home and lifestyle using the extortionate amount of money made from the scam. As the Daily Mail reports, Jonathon Sandiford told the courts that Wales and his wife only had a ‘legitimate income of £7,500’ which could by no means explain the home improvements and lifestyle that they had.

Justice was served at Leeds Crown Court, where Jonathan prosecuted Trevor Wales and his son.
