With over 25 years of experience in clerking, Kelly Staniforth is the Lead Diary Clerk at St Pauls Chambers, responsible for the effective day-to-day administration of all criminal law practices within Chambers. She brings a deep and practical understanding of the full spectrum of criminal law, including individual counsel specialisms, ensuring optimal management and deployment of practitioners across a broad caseload.

Kelly plays a central role in the listing of criminal cases, attending regular meetings at Leeds Crown Court and maintaining close working relationships with listing departments across all relevant court centres. Her oversight ensures the Chambers’ criminal diary is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the needs of clients and counsel alike.

Her responsibilities extend to the secure handling and allocation of DCS access, GDPR-compliant organisation of digital evidence, administration of CJSM secure emails, and the smooth management of audio-visual material. Kelly is also a vital point of liaison between counsel and courts, enabling the movement of cases through collaboration and precision.

Known for her calm efficiency and problem-solving skills, Kelly actively monitors the diary for conflicts or issues, taking proactive steps to ensure seamless coverage and service. She also oversees Travel and Subsistence claims for Recorders and supports the senior clerking team with reporting and training initiatives.
