Expertise

Tayo regularly appears for the prosecution and defence in a wide range of matters in the Crown Court including Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings.

She is regularly instructed to prosecute and defend trials involving serious offences such as dishonesty offences, rape, robberies, multi-handed burglaries, multi-handed robberies, S18 assaults and driving offences involving death.

Notable Crime cases

Operation Macegate

Prosecution junior in multi handed conspiracy to burgle. There were over twenty offences in the conspiracy period with little to prove that each of the four defendants participated in all the burglaries. The Crown’s case relied heavily on telephone evidence, call data, cell-site data and ANPR evidence to prove the conspiracy.  Tayo carefully considered the voluminous evidence and worked with leading counsel to ensure the Crown’s case was put as accurately as possible, resulting in Guilty pleas from all defendants.

Operation Jaguar

Prosecution junior in football related violent disorder involving over 20 defendants. The number of defendants in this operation required two separate trials. Tayo cross examined some of the defendants and meticulously reviewed and prepared voluminous material to ensure seamless and simple presentation to the jury

R v N (A Youth)

Tayo secured not guilty verdicts following successfull application to vacate guilty pleas and raising the modern-slavery defence in a county-lines drugs case.

R v M, R v D, and R v S-M

Tayo successfully secured contingent destruction orders for clients convicted of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and/or causing injury.

Tayo receives instructions in all areas of private and public law proceedings. She is experienced in complex family disputes, contact cases, domestic violence cases and cases involving non-accidental injuries to a child. She regularly appears in fact-finding hearings and other contested hearings. She is particularly mindful to the sensitive nature of disputes in this area and approaches each case with client care at the forefront of her mind. Tayo gives firm advice on prospects of success and manages clients’ expectations effectively. She is trusted as led junior in highly complex family proceedings.

Tayo conducted the cross examination of two expert witnesses and had significant involvement in the preparation of the cross-examination of the other expert witnesses.
