Call 2025
Josh will complete his first six pupillage in March 2026. Under the supervision of Jane Brady, Josh has shown natural ability, judgement and capacity for hard work. Josh worked on several complex cases with Jane, including helping prepare case summaries for murder hearings, drafting prosecution opening notes for trial, researching disclosure matters in drugs cases, drafting defence trial schedules for a rape trial, and conducting a cross-examination in court (after the trial), in a kidnapping case.
Whilst studying for his Bar exams, Josh was both an Outreach and Court volunteer with the Witness Service, providing enhanced support to witnesses in the criminal justice system. As part of this, he helped those with accessibility requirements, learning disabilities and children as young as six years of age, with giving of evidence in court. As a result of this, Josh developed an astute ability to communicate with witnesses with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
During his undergraduate degree and Bar Practice Course, Josh owned a franchise of a children’s football coaching business, where he saw his clients grow to over 210. He had to open new classes, due to some of the highest customer retention in the company.
Josh has a strong interest in criminal law and procedure, which is demonstrated best in his attaining 94% on his Criminal Litigation Exam and 85% on his Masters of Laws dissertation, ‘Does the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and supporting legislation adequately protect the public from metaverse sexual harms, or is reform needed?’.
Whilst Master of Moots at University, he wrote and judged a criminal law moot, amongst others.
Chambers is centrally located within walking distance of the train station, secure car parks and the Courts.
