Charlie has a busy and broad common law practice. He accepts instructions from individuals and businesses in civil and regulatory matters and provides advice, pleadings and advocacy across a wide range of areas. He has a particular focus on contractual disputes and personal injury

AREAS OF PRACTICE
Personal Injury
Charlie undertakes all personal injury and clinical negligence matters for both Claimants and Defendants, and is regularly instructed in:
- Fast and Multi-track trials
- Case and Cost Management Conferences
- Interlocutory and disposal hearings
- MOJ Portal claims
Charlie has a busy paper practice and advises on liability, quantum and case strategy, in addition to drafting pleadings for all level of injuries. He is able to turn papers round at short notice.
Charlie undertakes tribunal work, and appears in the First-Tier Tribunal (Criminal Injuries Compensation). He adopts a flexible approach to his practice, and is happy to provide informal advice by telephone or email during any stage of proceedings.
Civil and Commercial
Charlie is experienced in a wide range of civil litigation and is instructed to act for various business, trusts and private clients on commercial matters. His practice covers a broad spectrum which includes professional negligence (with a particular focus on legal services), building and construction disputes, claims arising out of breach of contract and negligence, product liability, debt recovery and credit hire.
By way of example recent instructions include:
- Defending claims brought against UPS for alleged damage to goods during transit;
- Acting for a kitchen installer regarding non-payment of fees and subsequent counterclaim for breach of contract;
- Defending various claims for South Yorkshire Police, including alleged false imprisonment, breach of contract and breach of human rights;
- An action in the High Court (Technology and Construction Court) regarding the failure to safely remove asbestos from an important property.
Charlie was appointed to the Attorney General’s Civil Panel as a ‘Junior Junior’ in 2016.
Charlie’s Practice encompasses advisory work, pleadings, applications and trials . He has experience of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation. He can be engaged on a fixed fee where appropriate
Charlie will accept instruction to provide advice and representation to professionals facing disciplinary proceedings within the Healthcare professions. With a family background in dentistry, his particular interest lies within this field.
