Nicola Saxton - An evening of debate

The Family Law Department of Irwin Mitchell LLP hosted an evening of debate. 

"This house believes that permanent sposal cohabitation should discharge a maintenance order"

Nicola SaxtonSt Pauls Chambers was responsible for sourcing the speakers and the chair.  Speaking in favour of the motion was Nicholas Francis QC from 29 Bedford Row and Judith Fordham from Exchange Chambers.  Speaking against the motion was St Pauls Chambers', Nicola Saxton and Nigel Dyer QC from 1 Hare Court.  The evening was Chaired by The Honourable Mr Justice Moylan and hosted by Irwin Mitchell LLP.

A show of hands in the first instance indicated a 80/20 split from the audience in favour of the motion.  The following sixty minutes did not dissapoint.  A very impressive panel displaying expert knowledge with undertones of charm, wit and charisma.

It was clear Nigel Dyer QC and Nicola Saxton had a battle on their hands to convince the audeince to vote against the motion.  The delivery was faultless and they came back to win the debate with 80% of the vote.
