'No findings' result for GP
A locum GP has been cleared of any wrong-doing by the Medical Practitioner's Tribunal Service. Counsel Alun Jones, instructed by Katy Costello of BLM Law secured a 'No finding' result for the GP who faced allegations of sexual assault.
GP Faced Allegations of Sexual Assualt on a Patient
Alun Jones represented a locum GP who was alleged to have sexually assaulted a patient during the course of an examination.
Following 6 days at the Medical Practitioner's Tribunal Service, the Tribunal found that there was nothing improper in the examination and although the doctor accepted that his explanation to the patient could have been fuller, the Tribunal found that the admission did not amount to misconduct. The case concluded without any adverse finding against the doctor and no action was taken.
Had the panel found that the examination had been performed for a sexual motive, it was almost inevitable that the GP would have been erased from the medical register.
Alun Jones regularly represents healthcare practitioners facing allegations of misconduct. Should you wish to instruct Alun you should call his clerk, Jayne Drake on 0113 2455866.
